In the last week or two, the KPI visual % variance defaults to showing 2 decimals after publishing it to a workspace, even though it is set to 0 decimals on Desktop. It can't be edited in the workspace either. It was showing the same as Desktop previously, so this seems to be a recent update (Jan-25), has anyone else encountered this? Any ideas for a workaround?
Hello,
I have faced similar issue using KPI visual. In the Target label section (Distance to goal), when style is selected to both (Value & Percentage), the decimal value is set to 0 on PBI Desktop, however when this is published to the PBI Webservice, decimal value is auto enhanced to 2 decimal places. Refer snapshots below. Highlighting to @Microsoft for fixing and resolution.
@JeffreyKhoo I encounter the same issue. Is there any progress by the support team? Thank you!
Hi @JeffreyKhoo,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
I just checked from my side and I don't see any issue.
Can you please check with the new version.
Version: 2.140.356.0 64-bit (February 2025)

Do you see 0 decimals for both Desktop and Workspace?

It's the distance to goal that is not aligned.

Distance to goal - both (value and percentage). Decimal 0. The percentage variance is what I'm referring to.
Hi @JeffreyKhoo,
This might be a bug in the January 2025 version, and I see that many people have raised a similar issue.
I verified the January 2025 version, and it showed 2 decimals in the service even though it was 0 Decimal in Desktop, just as you mentioned.
When I tried the February 2025 version, it also showed 2 decimals by default on the desktop, even though it was 0 Decimal in Desktop, which I did not expect.
For reference:
I suggest raising a support ticket. If you have already done so, please share the update and solution here. So that it will be helpful for other members of the community who have similar problems as yours to solve it faster.

Unfortunately it is still not resolved yet - the Microsoft team are still taking a look at it
Hello @JeffreyKhoo ,
I noticed that you also opened an issue in the issues segment, well in this case Microsoft support will try to reproduce the issue and will reach back to you after the investigation.
for me I didn't use the kpi visual this year so I csn't really help, but you're on the right track posting it as an issue.
