Dear,
We are providing PowerBI solutions for our customers.
Our customers are connecting to our cloud "BI-server" trough RDP.
I have 6 users that need an automatic nightly refresh of their data in the reports that I published for them on their accounts. (I am managing their reports fro them, so I know their account name and password.)
I can successfully get the Power BI gateway (personal mode) working for 1 user, but when I'm trying it for a second user, the installer fails, it says that the software has already been installed. I have also tried using the other mode, the non personal mode, but that fails too. Up until now we were able to deliver everyting within the scope of Power BI Free environment.
What I actually need, is a PowerBI Gateway for at least 6 users to use. Do we need to switch to Power BI Pro? and if yes, for 1 user, (the user that is hosing the gateway) or for all users that will be using the gateway?

Hi @Anonymous ,
On-premises data gateway (personal mode) allows one user to connect to sources, and can’t be shared with others. An on-premises data gateway (personal mode) can be used only with Power BI. This gateway is well-suited to scenarios where you’re the only person who creates reports, and you don't need to share any data sources with others.
On-premises data gateway allows multiple users to connect to multiple on-premises data sources. You can use an on-premises data gateway with all supported services, with a single gateway installation. This gateway is well-suited to complex scenarios with multiple people accessing multiple data sources.
So you would need to install and configure the On-premises data gateway instead of On-premises data gateway (personal mode), and you needn't to switch license.
