PowerBI Embedding in Word Press for Direct Lake reports

Hi All,

I am using the following solution to embed power bi reports built using direct lake:

I am able to embed it in word press but for users who dont have powerbi license or direct access to word press, the reports arent visible. To replicate a non powerbi user i am trying to open the reports embded in word press using incognito mode, it gives 401 error.

Could you please help me how do I emded a report built using direct lake in wordpress  and allow non powerbi users to look at the reports.

Hi @HritikT16, 

Are you intending the reports to be public to everyone on the internet? 

If so you can use the publish to web option: Publish to web from Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

THen when you embed everyone can see the report.

I don't think I'm understanding. 

If you're using secure embedding, how do you intend to allow non Power BI users to view the report? Secure embedding requires authenciation. 

Embed a report in a secure portal or website - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Whether a user opens a report URL directly, or one that's embedded in a web portal, report access requires authentication. The following screen appears if a user hasn't signed in to Power BI in their browser session. When they select Sign-In, a new browser window or tab should open. Have them check for pop-up blockers if they don't get prompted to sign in.

So currently, the report is embeded into wordpress and the users dont need a powerbi access when sharing the report using wordpress service principal. What I am trying to achieve is report created using direct lake is embedded on wordpress and should be shareable to non poewrbi users without needing them to use powerbi sign in.
