PowerBI (Distribute Reports) & WhatsApp Notifications

Good day,

I have received a task to distribute static reports from PBI Dashboard.

I looked into Pagnated reports using PowerBI Premium "trial" but i require to setup PowerBI report server

I am considering to purchase the PBI Robots but that i think only outputs in pdf as it takes a snapshot

 

  1. Does PBI Robots generate Excel output or is it only PDF, i need Excel more with mutiple tabs? (am i better of replicated the pbi dashboard in SSIS to Excel)?
  2. Is 1 license sufficient to distribute to multiple users
  3. Can it distribute to Whatsapp or only email, how can i do this to Whatsapp?

    Hi Anonymous,

     

    I will answer your questions in the order in which they were asked above.

     

    1.If you want to schedule automated screenshots using Power BI Robots, you can select the screenshot output format (image, single or multiple PDFs, single or multiple Excel files, etc.) when you create a new automated playlist.

    2.Power BI Robots allows you to routinely send playlists of reports to as many people as you want, from or outside your organization, regardless of being Power BI users.

    But if you are using the trial version, it only supports 5 playlists with up to 5 visuals each, and 5 recipients per playlist, and your reports will have a red watermark.

    3. Currently, Power BI Robots only supports Email, file system, SharePoint and web browser delivery methods, and cannot directly distribute to WhatsApp.

    If you want to perform this operation on WhatsApp, you need to Integrate Power BI and WhatsApp first, and then export it in the format you want in Power BI Robots playlists..
