Power bi service

Hi Team

As I am using power bi pro licence in the server , while publishing the dashboard it shows an error as it  exit max limit , and not getting published , as for month is about 5 crores of record for a month. As we have a spare licence of power premium,

But if we install power premium in the server , we are not able to publish in the power pro users. Kindly suggest

Regards

Mohan

    Hi there Mohan!

Power BI Pro has a 1GB dataset size limit for publishing and refreshing, if you exceed this limit it won't publish. My solution for you is to either make your dashboard smaller OR upgrade to power bi premium, so that you can post larger dashborders.

    Hope this helps you!

    Cheerio,

    Zoe

Hi Anonymous , Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.

The response given by freginier is correct. In Power BI Pro, the maximum dataset size is typically 1 GB per dataset when published to the Power BI service. Given the volume of data you're dealing with, you're likely exceeding this limit, which is why you're seeing the error.

Since you have a spare Power BI Premium license, you can take advantage of its increased capacity and features. Power BI Premium allows Larger Dataset Sizes (Up to 100 GB per dataset, depending on the SKU), Increased Refresh Frequency (Up to 48 times per day), Better Performance and Dedicated Resources. If the report is published in a Premium workspace, Power BI Pro users can view the content without needing a Premium license themselves.

Also, Consider optimizing your data model to reduce the dataset size. Implementing incremental refresh would be particularly beneficial with large datasets, as it only refreshes new or updated data rather than the entire dataset. This improves performance and efficiency.
