Hello,
I have a power bi .pbx file in the repository along with the dot net code. I am using powerbi service with dot net framework to publish a reports.
The issue is when I save a report with a parameter "a" for example in the code repository. And, if I pass the parameter "b" using the dot net code. The power bi service also the old report parameter values in the slicer of the report. The Issue here is the slicer is not refreshing with the new parameter only. It shows both parameter "a" and "b" in the slicer. The default value selected values in the slicer is of Paramter "a".
Please, let me know how to resolve this issue.
Hi Chenwu Zhu,
Thanks for your reply. I may have confused you with the term "parameter" as that is our business term, not the Power BI report parameter.
My problem is that I have a slicer that lets the user choose between multiple values on a report template. The slicer has a default value, being the first in the list when the template was designed in the Power BI Desktop. As our data is comprised of a whole lot of separate datasets, we also publish the latest template alongside each new dataset. The slicer retains the default value that was in the template, despite the fact that the value is not in the dataset. How can we clear or reset the slicer so that it only displays data that is actually in the dataset?
Hi @Anonymous ,
Is that you mean parameter in power query editor?
There are some restrictions on the use of parameters in services, please set the type of the parameter to a type other than 'any' and binary, for security reasons.
