how to connect postgresql hosted on cloud aws and it is required to install odbc drivers and refresh through on-primeses data gateways, it is possible how will you implement it?
Solved! Go to Solution.
If it's just a postgresql databsase hosted on AWS, you should be able to connect using the standard connector from PowerBI. When you click 'Get Data' then 'More...' and then enter 'postgresql' in the search box, you will see two options - one for Azure and one for the general PostgreSQL database. Select the general one, and enter the server address and database name, which you should get from AWS. Once this works, you can modify the other settings to your requirements, e.g. run an SQL statement only to get the required data.
Hi @Anonymous ,
Thanks for yaak’s help! For how to set up a scheduled refresh:
1. Download and configure the gateway.
Install an on-premises data gateway | Microsoft Learn
2.Configure data source credentials in Power BI Service.
Add or remove a gateway data source - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
3.Configure scheduled refresh in Sementic model settings page.
Configure scheduled refresh - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Best regards.
