Power Bi licenses

Hi There,

The easiest way to understand is this : 

• There are 2 types of License ( FREE and PRO) . 
• There is another type which is capacity not license is Premium Capacity ( SKU) that you buy. 

Lets take a simple Example to understand this : 

• There are 3 users in organization. User A / User B / User C where A&B are PRO and C is a Free user.
• You have 2 workspace Workspace 1 / 2 where only Workspace 2 is in premium capacity and Workspace 1 is shared

If you publish a report in Workspace 1 you can only share it across PRO users. If you Publish a report in Workspace 2 you can share it to PRO and Free users ( View only) .

The concept is Either have PRO license to people who wanted to see and share the dashboard or buy premium capacity so free users can also be added to the workspace and can view the content. 

In a typical organization this is how it works : Say you have 1000 users out of them 10 are developer and other are consumer the pro license will cost you ( 10x1000 = 10,000 USD ) . Just to view the content you wont buy PRO for all. 

Thats where the Premium capacity's one of the feature will come to picture. Now you buy only 10 PRo license and 900 are free. ( 10x10 = 100 USD) + Premium capacity ( Dedicated space in cloud ) say 25 GB which cost you 5k USD example. Total would be ( 5K+100 = 5100 USD) i.e. 10 user will develop and publish the content to the premium workspace and others are added FREE License to view the content. on top of that you also get dedicated space which has more features and other advantage. : https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/ difference are mentioned.

In your case if the users are very few then you might end up with PRO license but if you have large audiance then you might have to look for this option.
