Power Bi embedded export pdf with filters

Hi All

We have an Embedded report (App owns data) solution. We have built an export PDF button using the APIs.

Currently the pdf button exports with the default slicer selection. Is there anyway the report can be exported using the user’s current selection?

Possible solutions we are looking into:
1. Is there a way to get a list of filters currently applied by the user on the embedded solution? This can then be passed to the export pdf API.
2. Alternatively, can you set a state of the current report to be exported and pass this to the print pdf API.

Any advice or other solutions please! 🙂

Hi @tiaandp ,

See if BI Helper https://bihelper.tech works for your use case.

BI Helper is a third-party SaaS tool that automates user-specific PDF generation and emailing (i.e., with slicers and filters applied) from Power BI.

BI Helper requires you to have one Power BI Pro (or higher) license. Your end-users can be internal or external to your organization, and they don't need Power BI licenses to receive their PDFs.

Hello,

I have the same problem, my application is in Mendix and so far I didn't find any way to read the filters from the report or apply the filters to the export pdf function. Have you yet find a solution to this problem? I appreciate your help if you found any information from other sources 🙂

Hi. I'm not sure about the format because I haven't done the scenario but it looks like you can send one filter at the body of the request. The doc has a ExportFilter option that allows one for the Report.

I hope that helps,
