Apologies for the late reply. Unfortunately the suggestion did not work - we've reached out to Microsoft Support and they informed us that cross-tenant URLs for embedding in Teams is currently not supported. As such my use case above currently cannot be achieved.

It seems that you are using group email id for embedding. But you have to use like [ https://app.powerbi.com/reportEmbed?reportId]

You can use the above url to integrate in you teams/web application as embedded report.
The same currently am using in my work.
