Power Bi Services and Excel Report Not Syncing

Thank you for your response.
The file is located on the sharepoint on premise (the cloud where the entire company can post docs to). And the gateway is through power bi services which is accessible via the same sharepoint that hosts the excel file.

If your data source is online, you don’t need to add it to the gateway, you only need to configure credentials under the dataset.

i am not sure what you mean by configuring credentials, where do you go to add/configure credentials under the dataset tab?

You can go to workspace >>dateset>>more option>>setting>>data source credentials,then edit.
