Power Bi Report Visuals are not refreshing, but the Semantic model shows the latest data

Hi, I have created Semantic model using Warehouse and does scheduled Refresh. I created PBI report using Direct query mode to this semantic model which I created in Warehouse. Later I updated this Semantic model to include more tables and columns and updated accordingly in my PBI report. But I noticed that after the refresh the visuals doesn't show the latest data. When I add new page to the same report, it shows the updated visuals. What would be the reason?

I checked all slicers, Did mannual refresh of the PBI report, Cleared Cache. Nothing Worked.

It looks like I have to create new page and Copy all the visuals to the new page to see the updated data. How can avoid this situation in future?

Hi @Sreejisha

The issue of visuals not showing updated data after refreshing is likely due to cached data or inconsistencies in the report. Here's how to fix and prevent it:

Fix the Current Issue

  1. Refresh Visuals: Right-click affected visuals and choose "Refresh visuals" from the menu.
  2. Clear Cache: Go to File > Options and Settings > Options > Global > Data Load > Clear Cache, then refresh the report.
  3. Recreate Visuals: If needed, delete and recreate problematic visuals on the same page instead of copying them to a new one.

Prevent Future Issues

  1. After updating the semantic model, ensure the new schema is fully synchronized with the report by republishing and refreshing the dataset.
  2. Validate relationships in the semantic model to avoid broken dependencies.
  3. Use DirectQuery Diagnostics to ensure the visuals query the updated semantic model.

These steps should resolve the issue and help you avoid similar problems in the future.
