Recently I made some changes from DataFlow to include a new column from a query. I posted, saved, and saw the new column name. The Semantic Model refreshed on its own, and new data was showing.....but the column wasn't pulled.
From my understanding, the only way to include the new column is to download the semantic model and refresh it in the Power BI Desktop, then republish it. Can this be done on the web (app.powerbi.com) to avoid additional work, or a better approach to avoid this?

Excellent question. I don't think the web editing experience includes the option of meta data refresh. There is a "Refresh" button but that is only for the rendering.
So I would say that the desktop (or ALM Toolkit) is the only option but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Hi Ibendlin,
I agree with you because I came to the same answer. I posted this in case I missed something or someone has a better approach. Accepting your answer as the solution as it goes straight to the point.
Hopefully in the future, they can include something to refresh the Meta Data.
