Power Bi Premium, share dashboard...problem

Hello
I have a Power BI Premium license, from Service I share a Report with a coworker, with an email from the same domain as mine. When he clicks on the link to enter the report, a message appears that says something like: "Update the Power BI license. To use Power BI per user, contact the Microsoft 365 administrator or the billing administrator to update the license"
What should I do? I need your help

Hi. Do you mean Premium Capacity or Premium per User (PPU)? Premium per capacity allows you to turn it on to a workspace. Once the workspace is premium shows a diamond. You can add Users in your organization as viewers of the workspace to allow them to view the reports. If you want to restricte reports you can use Power Bi Apps.

On the other hand if you have PPU, it works like PRO. When you turn it on to a workspace it shows diamond+user. That means it's only visible for other PPU user.

I hope that make sense

Hey @jotaeme_ ,

Sharing an item (a dashboard or report)? means direct sharing, this requires the recipient to have a Pro license, no matter if your workspace that holds the workspace is backed by a Premium license.

Being more precise, there are Premium capacities, that will become Fabric capacities or already are. And there is a Premium Per User licensing, allowing us to use Power BI Premium features without "buying" a Premium capacity.

If you have Premium Per User, than all users need to have PPU.

If you have a normal capacity, than the sharing of items should be done via an app, then the content consumer (dashboards and reports) do not need a Pro license.

Hopefully, this helps to tackle your challenge.

Regards,
Tom
