Power BI workspace notification while closing

We have a Power BI dashboard uploaded to a workspace, which has a power automate button which captures the people who have clicked the button. We have a new requirement that there needs to be a notification when they are closing out the power bi dashboard in workspace that reminds them to click on the button before exiting. Is this possible? Has anyone implemented any workarounds?

While Power BI itself doesn't have built-in capabilities to detect when a user closes or exits a dashboard in a workspace, nor does it have a direct trigger or prompt feature, there are a few alternatives.
You can set up a scheduled reminder to send emails or notifications through Power Automate to users who didn't click the button. You can also use Power Apps to create custom alerts, and you can integrate Power BI with Power Apps to create a custom alert system that prompts users to take action before they exit. Or data alerts, which are directly unrelated to closing the dashboard, but you can set up data alerts in Power BI to notify users when certain conditions are met, which is useful for other types of alerts and notifications as well.

Hi @svp1000 -Unfortunately, Power BI does not have built-in functionality to detect when a user is closing or exiting the dashboard in the workspace, nor does it provide direct triggers or prompts for users when they attempt to leave the page. 

Instead of relying on a user to manually click the button before exiting, you could automate the process of sending reminders via Power Automate.

If you have a new idea for functionality or how something should work, you can certainly start a thread on the community to solicit feedback on your idea, but you should also post the idea in the ideas section of the website and solicit others to vote on your idea. The development teams use the Ideas area of the communities to build their development pipeline and a significant amount of weight is placed on Ideas that have lots of votes versus those that do not.
