Hello:
We are running Power BI from small .Net Windows application using standard .Net WebBrowser component.
Everything was working fine for more than a year. Then somewhat at the beginning of February this year the Tooltips in WebBrowser stopped showing. The same tooltips when run directly from any browser work fine. This affects all reports – dozens of them and stopped working from all machines - W10, W7, at work at home, on laptops, etc.
Was there an upgrade in Power BI service at that time? This must be fixed !!!
Regards,
-Jeff
Hi @gorvij,
Please clear the cache of webbrowser and check if it works fine.
Best Regards,
Angelia
Hello Angelia.
Thank you for the reply!
I cleaned up the IE cache. Then based on https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1608543/webbrowser-control-caching-issue
put together .Net process to clear the WebBrowser cache and run it. Tested – no difference, the Tooltips in PowerBI within WebControl do not work (but work fine in the IE or other browsers) !
Can you please explain the background of the issue? Our .Net Windows application with PowerBI in WebControl
have been running for more than a year. Why is that suddenly (~after 2/10/2018 or so) dozens of users, from
enterprise network or from home machine (after authentication) are having the Tooltips problem with standard .Net WebBrowser control? Could you please try yourself by creating a simple .Net Windows form apps with WebBrowser control and
URL pointed to a PowerBI report with Tooltips?
Best regards,
-Jeff
