Power BI report refresh without connecting VPN and manually refresh.

Hi All,

I have downloaded ODBC driver to get data from Hive server into power bi.
and via connecting with VPN I am able to get data in power bi. I can refresh data manually via connecting with VPN and ODBC driver on power bi service.

My requirement is without connecting VPN and without manually refresh, how can we establish getaway connection and refresh data automatic on service. I don’t want to connect VPN on daily basis and even open my laptop.

If ODBC driver is not install on my laptop still power bi service refresh data on daily basis?

You will need to install the ODBC driver on a server that is on the network. Then install and configure Power BI Gateway on the server. Once this is setup, you can setup data refresh in Power BI service.
