Power BI is not performing automatic refresh.
Hello,
We previously created a dashboard in Power BI using my manager's account and retrieving data from a SQL database. Before my manager left the company, we moved the dashboard to Power BI Cloud, so now I have admin access. However, today my manager's account was deactivated. We had previously enabled the hourly refresh feature for the dashboard, but now this refresh process is not working. I can manually update and publish the dashboard, but this is a tedious task.
How can I solve this issue? I would really appreciate it if you could guide me. I'm not a professional in these matters and I don't have much experience. I would be grateful if you could explain in detail.
Thank you so much in advance for your help!
Hi melikekurrt ,
Have you already taken over the semantic model? After that have a look into data source credentials and try ot update it by logging in with your user.
If this does not help, I'd probably look into the gateway. This you can find under gateway and cloud connections:You can also manage such gateways by clicking on the settings symbol in the top right:

Hi melikekurrt ,
Do you have access to the database already? If so, try refreshing the credentials with your user so the dashboard (I reckon it's a Power BI report) is able to connect to the database. Note, if the SQL Database is on-prem or not open to the internet (i.e. protected by a virtual network) you would also need a gateway in place.
Let me know, how things look like on your end 🙂

I can connect to the SQL database without any problems. What action should I take for the gateway?
Thank you for your quick response and helpfulness.

Thank you for your guidance. I don't see any issues with my connections, but the error persists.
