Power BI (free) Assignment path "direct"

So what does it mean when you see in Azure that a license for a Power BI (free) says "Direct"?

I have several users who have free licenses who can access a Power BI report and one employee who cannot and the only thing differen is in the assignment path of their license is one had direct.

Could they have in the past signed up for Power Bi free by themselves and its expired?

Thanks for helping me out.

Note I am not an admin just fyi.

    Hi BHarmonHouTX ,

Licenses can be assigned to users or groups in Azure AD. "Direct" means that the license is assigned directly to the user. If the license is assigned to a group, all users in the group will inherit the license. There is no difference between the licenses assigned in these two ways. For more information, please refer to: https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/active-directory/enterprise-users/licensing-groups-migrate-users

So for this free user who cannot open the report, please check if the report is in the premium capacity and the user has the access permissions to the report.

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information or the expected result you expect. Let me know immediately, looking forward to your reply.
    Best Regards,
    Winniz
