Power BI file deleted from SharePoint folder
I'm new to Power BI.
I keep my Power BI files in SharePoint.
In SharePoint, I made a copy of a Power BI file and named it. I then opened it in the Desktop, edited it (hitting the save button along the way), published it to a workspace in the service, and added it as content to an App.
When I went back to find the copied file in SharePoint it was gone.
In the Desktop, the file is gone (not in the "Recent" list).
In the service the Report and Semantic model items of the copy are present.
What is going on?
Hi GilbertQ. Thanks for your interest. The SharePoint file that was deleted from where I put it, was in the recycle bin and so I recovered it.
That feels like little consolation when what I put in SharePoint is deleted without me intending it to be deleted.
I feel I cannot trust Power BI to save to the SharePoint folder the file originated from.

Hi mraabe
Thank you for the update, and I'm glad you were able to recover the file from the SharePoint Recycle Bin.
I understand why this would be concerning. Based on what you've described, this is not expected behavior Power BI Desktop should not normally delete the source .pbix file from a SharePoint document library during save or publish operations.
