Hi
Currently, we have a dashboard that is connecting to gcp bigquery. However, I would like to change the data source to gcp postgresql that needs to white list the ip. To do that, do I need to either install a data gateway in a vm or can I use a gcp service account to enable the postgresql connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
HI @michaelhsu2011 ,
If you do not currently have or use a gateway and don't expect to use one in the future then I would suggest the gcp service account. I only suggest this for the ease of implementation, today. A gateway is a great way to get to data but if it is for a one-off situation I would not install a gateway (and create the Data Source(s) )

Hi @collinq
Thank you for the response. Yes, I was hoping that there are ways other than setting up a gateway. Where can I add the gcp service account for gcp postgresql connection in powerbi.
Hey @michaelhsu2011 ,
I was assuming that this was a cloud connection. If it is a cloud connection then go do not need to set the datasource, you just put the service account in your desktop file and publish.
If it is not a cloud source then you will have to add a gateway and then a datasource that uses that gateway.
