Power BI closing without warning, no error message

Power BI is closing when I go into Power Query to refresh my tables.  I have expanded the memory allocation in options, reduced the loading to 1 at a time, and turned off auto time etc.  I have already reduced the size of each query as far as I can.  I have no visuals built yet and no data model put together.  There are 52 queries, but each is under 2000 rows.  I desparately need this to work.  Most questions on here have the option of switching to direct query but for me these are excel files so I really can't do that.

Please let me know what information you would like me to share as far as diagnostics.  I am assuming it's taking up more RAM then allowed, but I have tried it set to as high as it will let me, and watching the task manager it isn't even spiking nonetheless surpassing 41% RAM usage, so the issue is Power BI itself.  

The data cannot be aggregated any further.  Is there any way other than building maybe an appended table in excel and then bringing that in?  Is it the sheer number of queries regardless of how small they are?

Hi @LYorkToenniges ,

Please try disabling background data refresh to prevent changes from triggering an automatic refresh while you make changes. You can do this by going to File > Options and settings > Options > Current File > Data Load and unchecking Background Data.
And instead of refreshing all queries at once, try refreshing them individually. In Power Query Editor, you can right-click on a query and select Refresh Preview.

Thank you so much!  I thought I had turned it off and I had not.  As long as I am careful to preview one at a time (I also increased the ram limit, and set it to load 1 job at a time, no parrallel loading) It stays open.

One option I have is changing the files that are being queried to csv, would that buy me the space I need?  I had much more loaded in and excel power query data model and that file runs fine so it's power BI for sure.  Other files load as well, so it has to be the amount of files.

You should use windows performance monitor tool to track memory and cpu

Thank you very much.  I am definitely up to date with updates.  I am very sure it is the limitations on how much a non-premium account can load but I do not have the option of switching as the company does not have any liscences available.  Ways to modify the loading of data may be my only option to save the file.

No. it is not related to your licence this is only related to your local development Machine/ PC

This is what I could get.  Please let me know if there are other counters I should add.  I was a little overwhelemed by the options.  the dip right before 4:15p is the crash.
