Power BI button to refresh report when embedded on SharePoint page doesn't work
- 2 years ago
Thanks Anonymous I think it's some permissions issue, which behaves differently when using the Power BI web part on a SharePoint page. None of the above helped unfortunately, but I did then try to just use the normal 'Embed url' web part instead and that works fine!
So, if anyone wants to use buttons which trigger power automate in their Power BI and embed it in SharePoint, then don't pick the Power BI web part, just use the normal embed web part!! Sorted.
Hi DDDDD ,
First, go to the SharePoint page where you embed the report.
Press F12 and check if a Power BI related request is sent when you click the button.
If there is check the error message.
If not, go into Power BI Service, change some data for the current report, and then go back to SharePoint to see if the data has changed.
If it feeds the data change correctly you can create a new test flow in Power Automate and associate it to the button to see if it works.
If the data changes do not feed back correctly, you can create a new test report in Power BI Service, add the same button and then embed it in SharePoint to see if a different report has the same issue.
Sometimes the visual objects Embedded to SharePoint have bugs that you can fix by clearing the Site Data in SharePoint and Power BI Service.
These are the steps to troubleshoot the issue and I would appreciate if you could cooperate.
You are welcome to contact me anytime.
Best Regards,
Yang
