Power BI app - very slow loading time

Hello,

I don't know if anyone has had an issues like I'm about to mention, but I hope that someone cand help me.

I use power BI desktop and online app daily in order to do my work. Up untill February everything went smooth, no issue, but starting with late February Power BI app (online) loads extremly slow, and I mean around 20 minutes just for the webpage to open (all i see for 20 minutes is the PBI icon in the centaer of the page), the elements within the web site don't load (workspaces for example), when I press update app, again, slow loading time.

I have tried many things to solve this issue, but the only action that works for me is to clear all my browsing data. Usually I need to clean the data twice a week, since that's the ammount of times the app starts to load slow.

Also, I have tested with the IT department some workarounds, like deactivating ZScaller, and this action works as well, but due to company policy this program is off limits for me, so no action here.

As a main browser I'm using Chome. I haven't used other broswers for this issue.

Did someone else faced this kind issue?

  • Hi AndreiP90

According to your description of the situation, you have an issue with the browser and its cache. Edge suits better Power BI service but still you need to do some tune up in your report's pages and visuals. Like reducing the number of visuals in a page or number of fields in a visual or number of filters applied in the filters panel...can help optimize your App.

    Hi AndreiP90 ,

Large datasets or complex queries can slow down performance. try optimizing your data models and queries.
Slow network connections can affect load times. Please ensure you have a stable and fast internet connection.
Insufficient memory or CPU power can cause delays. Upgrading your hardware or optimizing your current setup might help. For more specific troubleshooting, you might want to check with your Power BI admin team to see if there are any capacity or configuration issues.

      Hello,

First I would like to help you for your support.

I thought it was a cache problem, but, the problem is, why now, and not since the beginning, ecerything worked perfectly until february, curent year?

I don't think this is the exact issue, since I'm not accessing the app itself, I'm just on the main page, where the workspaces are. Yesterday I had to clear my cache, after that I started switching between workspaces (not accessing the dashboards) for 15 minutes. after that, I have closed my browser, openined it again and after that Power BI online (webpage - where the workspaces are) started uploading slow again.

I don't know what to say, it seems like something within the webpage is filling chrome's cache.
