Power BI and Azure AD Conditional access

Hello everyone, so I was looking into this post:

https://www.kasperonbi.com/power-bi-security-enhancements-with-azure-ad-conditional-access/

And I was wondering if someone could share an experience using Power BI in a scenario like my company has: they will only allow access to any company data if you're inside company network (or VPN).

Right now we have a local Active Directory server. I'm not an Windows server guy so I have no idea how to sell the idea of maybe migrating to Azure AD just to get Power BI to comply with this directive from our HQ. We're a small company (around 100 users).

Is there any middle ground between migrating to Azure AD and still getting what I need? Does anyone have a similar scenario? I'd appreciate any input on this. Thanks!

    Hi lfloyola,

According to your description. it seems like you want to know more about migration on premise ad to azure ad, right?

If this is a case, I'd like to suggest you post this to azure forums to get better support.

In addition, you can also take a look at following link about synchronizing on premise AD to Azure AD:

Migrate entirely from On-Premises AD to Cloud-Only Azure ADDS

Hello Xiaoxin, thanks for the info. But not only that, I'd like to confirm if migrating is really the way to go, or would that be any other way to achieve that level of security with power BI (restricting its access to corporate network only)
