Power BI Virtual Network Gateway Question
Hi all,
I have a personal gateway to refresh the data source from the company's local server. However, the personal gateway needs me to keep my laptop online all the time. And I also use Power Automate to schedule refresh.
I'm looking for a way to make gateway always online and can work with Power Automate.
It seems Virtual Network Gateway might be an option. Does anyone familiar with Virtual Network Gateway? Is it able to connect to the local server to refresh the Power BI dataset? How much is the cost? And can it work with Power Automate?
Any idea would be appreciated!!
Thanks!

You will need to setup the Standard On-Prem Data Gateway.

What that is saying is to NOT install that on a device that will not be online during times when you want to refresh or have a sceduled refresh. In other words you want to install that on a Windows machine that will always be available like a server in your data center etc.

Only from what I have read in the documentation. You would use the VNet Gateway if your Datasource is sitting in Azure. Otherwise I believe you will need to use the On Prem gateway.
