Power BI - This content isn't available. Learn more about Power BI

I have replaced a colleague who has left the company 1 month before my arrival. Hence he could not give all permissions directly to me so the management and the support team has to deal with it. Unfortunately there are some issues with that.

I have been told that I've received all required permissions but I still get an error message (see below).

My ex-colleague won't be able to help, support says it should be the manager to help me out with that, but my manager is not an IT person so she is not really able to go further with that. So I'm stuck now.

Hi there

It would appear that this would be best suited to someone who has a lot more working experience with Power BI and is comfortable using the Power BI APIs to get the data that you need and to get it all working in an efficient manner.

I would suggest chatting to our manager about where it is currently at and possibly getting in an external consultant to assist you. It could be done remotely as long as the permissions are correctly setup.

Hi there

I would suggest that you then set up a Power BI API where you add permissions so that you can see all Tenant wide settings.

Once that is done, you can then use the Power BI Admin API's to see all the datasets.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/admin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQ7ufcRayYY

Once that is done you can then take over the datasets with the following API below
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/datasets/takeoveringroup

Thank you for this.

Actually I'm pretty new in the topic. I simply inherited this role with very basic skills.
Do you think this is something I can do with this level of knowledge? I have checked the first video and it seems

that the most of the information is for admins.

I'm at learning by doing phase right now and will need to pick up the knowledge in the coming weeks.
Obviously it isn't expected from me to be an expert, but as I have SharePoint experience (design, workflows, InfoPath - from ice age, ..etc) I don't think it would be a mission impossible.

My focus isn't on Power BI, but I do think it's a very useful app so I've been looking for several online trainings and (pretty) slowly I'm getting there but it's still the basics.

The issue is that however Power BI is enabled in our company, but there is no official support (once it is OOB solution).
This means I'm in a trouble now.
