Power BI Template App Publishing Issue (Test link Installation- Failed to Import Data)
Hi Anonymous,
I tried your suggestion of using two separate parameters, but unfortunately, it didn’t resolve the issue. I also explored several other possible options, but none of them were fruitful.
Eventually, I rebuilt the entire report from scratch and applied the same settings as before to configure it for the template app. This time, it worked without any issues.
From this experience, I believe the problem may have been caused by switching the data source—initially from Business Central to Sharepoint—by duplicating the original file. This change might have introduced underlying conflicts that affected the installation of the template app.
Nevertheless, thank you for your assistance!

Hi navneet_07,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.
Try below troubleshoot steps to resolve the issue:
Use two separate parameters, one for the SharePoint site URL and another for the file name, and filter the file inside Power Query using SharePoint.Files.
Ensure these parameters are visible during app installation, allowing users to enter their own site and file values.
Confirm the Excel file actually exists at the path entered by the user during installation. Test the installation with a different user account to check if the issue is specific to your credentials or permissions.
Kind regards,
