Power BI Subscription Email Shows Indian Number Format for EU Users

The dashboard is created in Power BI using the Indian locale. When users open the report in Power BI Service, the data is displayed according to their local regional settings. However, when users subscribe to the report, the email snapshot shows numbers in the Indian format, regardless of the user’s location (for example, users in Germany still receive Indian number formatting on mail).

If we change the Power BI regional settings, the dashboard formatting also changes globally, which affects other users.

  • Hi makshata96

Power BI currently does not support recipient specific regional number formatting in subscription email attachments. Subscription exports always use the report or dataset.

To meet the requirement while keeping a single report the suggested approach is to use subscription links instead of PDF/PNG attachments, allowing users to view the report in Power BI Service where their regional settings are respected.

    Hope this helps!!

    Thank You.

  • Subscription emails are rendered using the report / semantic model locale, not the recipient’s personal regional settings. Even though interactive viewing in the Service respects each user’s locale, the email snapshot is generated once on the server, and it does not apply per-user formatting. So yoıu need to create different reports for different regions to be used in subscriptions.

      Hi  cengizhanarslan

Thank you for the clarification. We have a business requirement to keep one single report and ensure that subscription emails follow the recipient’s regional number format.

Community,  If there is any other way please guide me.
