Power BI Service

Hi all! I have some dashboards within a certain workspace. Now I'd like to upload the pbix file to onedrive, so that every update of the desktop file I make, it gets updated in service within an hour. The thing is that when I do that, the reports get duplicated. I've searched for solutions but didn't find a clue. Can you help me please? thks in advance

HI @Anonymous ,

I am wondering if you have two versions of the file - one on your PC and/or in the Service and one in OneDrive and that is why you are getting duplicates.

Either way, if you ensure that you have only one copy of the .pbix file, in OneDrive, then this should not be an issue.  As long as you publish from the OneDrive file and that your gateway and/or Scheduled Refresh is getting the OneDrive .pbix file for the refresh, then you will be fine.  To make sure that this is working correctly, I would remove all the reports / dashboards from the workspace.  Then, put the .pbix in OneDrive.  Make sure to publish from the OneDrive version to the Service.  Make sure that the Service is using the OneDrive file only for the refresh.  Then, re-create the Dashboards (if needed) and let the system automatically do the work for you.

The only times I have seen duplicates is when I have two sources (or two different people with the same report that are not overwriting, but getting versions) and then when the two sources publish they come out as "duplicates".

A problem (in my mind) is that Power BI allows for items with the exact same name to be published - whether they are the exact same data or not.  That might be part of your issue as well.

I would appreciate Kudos if my response was helpful. I would also appreciate it if you would Mark this As a Solution if it solved the problem. Thanks!
