Power BI Service refresh failure - Internal service error / Transient issue

Hello

Scheduled refreshes for few of the datasets for my reports are failing from past few days and the error is similar in all of the cases.

See below the error -

Refresh failed:
"Report Name" has failed to refresh.
Failure details: The last refresh attempt failed because of an internal service error. This is usually a transient issue. If you try again later and still see this message, contact support.

{"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorCode","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorMessage","detail":{"type":1,"value":"<pi>Microsoft SQL: Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.</pi>"}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingHResult","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Class","detail":{"type":1,"value":"11"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.DataSourceKind","detail":{"type":1,"value":"SQL"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.DataSourcePath","detail":{"type":1,"value":"gcwcpsqlv00281;cscdwP"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Message","detail":{"type":1,"value":"Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding."}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Number","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Reason","detail":{"type":1,"value":"DataSource.Error"}}],"exceptionCulprit":1}}}

When I download PBIX file and refresh on Power BI desktop, it refreshes fine without any issues.

Also, if I refresh the dataset on demand on Power BI service, surprisingly, that refreshes fine too !!

So, it seems that the problem is only with the "scheduled" refresh.

Has anyone been facing this issue too? Please help

Regards

    Hi, Anonymous

    I failed to reproduce your scenario. I wonder which data source you are using. You may try to publish the report in another workspace and refresh it to see if it works. If it works, you need to remove it from original report and publish it again. If it still doesn't work, I'd like to suggest you create a support ticket here .

    Best Regards

    Allan

      I tried publishing to a different workspace and it worked fine.

      Also, if I remove from current workspace and re-publish it back, will I not lose the usage metrics data associated with the report?
