Power BI Service not linking to Pro Account

Hello All,

Thank you in advance for any help, as I have been going around in circles for about a week trying to solve this problem

Current state

Power BI Pro account purchased (invoice received last week)

Power BI Service will not allow me to upload files using OneDrive/Sharepoint or Excel Files.

Note: excel file access has been discontinued by Microsoft, so that is not part of this issue

The One Drive/Sharepoint menus are greyed out and states that a "subscription is required..." which is why I upgraded to Pro.

A license has been assigned, and is showing in the account. Yet I can still not access data from OneDrive/Sharepoint.

The account info is attached. It shows a current Pro account and trial for Fabric.

Is a purchase of Fabric required to access data through OneDrive/Sharepoint?

  • Thanks. I was able to speak with a Microsoft consultant to resolve this issue. I needed to add a business basic account and do some setup of One Drive and Sharepoint.

  • Hi MBHViz

I would suggest removing the Microsoft Fabric (Free) license. Then log out and log back in again.

When viewing your account it should just say Power BI Pro and no mention of trial.

Thanks. Unfortunately that did not work. The One Drive and Sharepoint options are still greyed out and reference needing a subscription.

  • Hi MBHViz1

Can you then check with your Power BI Administrator that they have not disabled those settings in the Admin portal?
