Power BI Service and files located on the network
Hello everyone, everything good?
I need help doing a scheduled update.
I have a server where I have an Excel file that I can access through the company's network.
And in Power BI, I made the connection using the Excel Connector. Since it is a file that is in a folder on the network and that I can access by my windows user.
However, when trying to make the scheduled update, the Power BI Service cannot access this file that is on the network on a server, even passing the right path with the user and password.
It reports that the username and password are incorrect, and the error it gives me is the following:
Unable to create connection for the following reason: Unable to connect to data source. The data source is inaccessible, there was a timed out error, or the data source credentials are invalid. Check the data source configuration and contact a data source administrator to resolve this issue.
Details:
Gateway Gomaq: Incorrect username or password.
Please have this information ready if you choose to create a support ticket.

Does anyone know if for this type of scenario, the connection should be made in some different way? Or have you ever encountered a situation like this?

Hi @ErickReiis
You need Power BI Gateway installed On-Prem (the server), then in the service you will need to add the source to the Gateway
