Power BI Service Slow in Microsoft Teams Premium

Hi:

Often, the Power BI Service is very slow when accessing it from "Apps" within Microsoft Teams Premium.

In my case, I click "New" to create a Semantic model.  Then, I click the Excel button.  This is where the freezing happens.

How is this usually resolved?

If deleting cache files or something along those lines helps, please tell me where in Windows File Explorer I can go to delete such files.

Thanks!

John

Yes I know. Leave Teams and use Power BI service directly.

@aj1973:

I haven't done anything.  All I have done is click "New" to create the model and the "Excel" button.  That's where it freezes.

"Excel" button? what do you mean?

Is it not a Power bi report

Ok I see, you are using Power BI builder in the cloud I beleive.

It shouldn't be an issue but you have to keep in mind that many factors can be involved in the process, like Internet connection, Local Machine(CPU, RAM, GPU...),Memory cache... that can it slow down. That's why building report using Power BI desktop is better and after publishing it you can open it and add its App in Teams.

Actually, I am using the Power BI Service.  I'm simply accessing it through Microsoft Teams Premium.

That worked!  Thanks!

John

All true!  But, to make a long story short, I'm purposely having to limit my steps to the cloud for a project and document for work.  So, I need to stick to whatever alleviates the slowness, here.

I saw an article two days ago that instructed on deleting files from the local cache, similar to what you said.  Do you know which area of Windows File Explorer to do this?  If not, what other steps can I take besiudes using Power BI Desktop?  🙂

Not sure but you can go to

in Edge, similarly in Chrome probably but I am not sure that it will have a signiftic impact. Doesn't hurt to try.

If not Power BI Desktop, try to use Power BI Service

Hi @jellis1971

I would recommend you to start optimizing the semantic model first. I am sure that a lot of thing can be done on it.
