Power BI Service Region Move

Yes, it’s possible, but only as a tenant remap and it’s destructive by design. Microsoft will move your Power BI tenant’s home region from North Europe to UK South by remapping the tenant, which wipes all Power BI data/metadata so you must back up and later restore everything you care about. UK South and North Europe are both within the Europe geo, which is allowed for tenant remap. commercial cloud; it just states the process and limitations.

Yes, it is possible to move a Power BI Service tenant from one region (like North Europe) to another (like UK South), but it isn’t a straightforward switch and it can be disruptive. Microsoft’s documentation confirms that tenant region moves are supported, but it requires involvement from Microsoft Support/Engineering to actually execute the move. It is not something you can simply do yourself in the admin portal.

The process is generally destructive: all existing Power BI content (workspaces, reports, datasets, etc.) are deleted in the source region and recreated in the destination region. Because of that, it’s usually only done when usage is low or in early stages, which in your case sounds okay since the tenant isn’t widely used yet.

You’re correct that any linked services like your Fabric F64 instance in UK South would need to be reprovisioned or reconfigured after the move the region move doesn’t automatically remap dependent services.
