Power BI Service Refresh failure

Hi,

We have reports on our Power BI Service, that refreshes every day from data that is stored in a Azure SQL Database. The databases is scaled-up when the refresh is triggered.

A scheduled refresh and also an on-demand refresh in the service is giving errors.

A refresh done in Power Bi desktop is working fine.

The error that is showed is always on a different table.

Any ideas how to find the route cause of this error.

thanks

Issue has been solved after contacting support.

PBI desktop was not triggering the error, the error was in a measure.

Support was able to see the actual error message. It would be nice that you can see the actual error message in the Powerbi service and not a general one.

Hi there

Can you confirm that the database has completed scaling up before the refresh has completed?

Yes the scaling is complete. it was completed before the refresh is started. we're running on a S6 when the refresh is executing

Hi there

It could be an issue with a particular table, what if you try and refresh it again?

I am not sure why the error changes.

If it does not resolve itself I would log a support ticket!

Refreshing again is giving also an error but on another table most of the time.

Thanks for letting us know, that is really interesting that it was an error in the measure!
