Power BI Service Monthly Automatic Upgrade Cadence Control

We are planning to move the PBI Service cloud soon.   We currently have PBI Report Server on premise that we control how often we install the  microsoft upgrades to our PBI Report Server  on premise (we normally take 1 or 2 upgrades per year)    I realize that microsoft releases PBI Service upgrades like monthly for the PBI Service.  My question is do we have any control over how often we will receive the microsoft PBI Service upgrade releases once we are in the cloud?  Is there a setting in the tenant or cloud where we can control the cadence of the PBI Service upgrades or is it automatic?

Updates to the Power BI service (Cloud based service) are done by Microsoft, usually around the 15th of each month. You cannot opt-out of the update, and there is no overall controll about when these updates are applied. However there are many features that are controlled via Administrator switches and options, so a local Power BI Administrator can withhold some of these updates where Microsoft has provided the facility to do so. Power BI Desktop software is similarly updated once a month, but it is down to the local IT Admin whether they update their PC's/Laptops. However it is advised not to get too far out of step between the Desktop software and the Service.

the update roadmap provides more detail of what is coming and what can be enabled/disabled by local Admins.

    Hope this helps
