Power BI Service (Mac) Create Reports from Transformed Data
Hi. I've signed up to the free trial of Power BI, using the online version as I'm on a Mac. I'm going round in circles trying to work out how to create reports / dashboards off transformed data. I can't create reports off a Dataset as I can't see how to transform it - some of the data types are wrong (no's instead of text etc). I can transform data in a Dataflow but can't see how I can actually use it for anything! Most info I've found is about Desktop which looks v different. Can someone point me in the right direction to work out if it's me or functionality in my BI version. Thanks!

You're right you can't run Power BI Desktop on a Mac natively, with a standard Pro licence this is a severe limitation as you found as no Data Modelling facilities exists outside of Power BI Desktop. However with a Premium Per User licence (PPU) you will be able to build a Datamart, this (finally!) allows Data Modelling in the browser and does not require Power BI Desktop. You should be able to get a 60 day trial of a PPU licence so you can try Datamarts out.

If you don't go the PPU route, you option is to use an Emulator (Parallels?) or similary to run Power BI deskyop on a mac.
