Power BI Service Disappearing Folder Bug

I am noticing a bug in Power BI Service with folders disappearing. It only happens when I am in the semantic model settings, refresh my window, and then click the workspace icon. It brings me back to the default view of the workspace but without folders. I am then forced to refresh the page again to show folders.

 

It is nothing major, but nonetheless an annoying bug.

  • Clear Browser Cache: 
    Clear the cache and cookies for the browser you're using to access Power BI Service. Cached data might interfere with the rendering of certain elements. 
  • Use a Different Browser: 
    Try accessing Power BI Service on another browser to check if the issue persists. Power BI is optimized for Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. 
  • Update the Browser: 
    Ensure your browser is updated to the latest version for the best compatibility. 
  • Test in Private/Incognito Mode: 
    Use the browser's incognito or private mode to rule out any extensions or cached data affecting the service. 
  • Report the Bug to Microsoft: 
    Since you're experiencing this consistently in a specific scenario, it may be helpful to report it via the Power BI Support portal or in the Power BI Community Forum. Provide the steps to reproduce the issue to help the development team investigate. 
  • Check Workspace Permissions and Settings: 
    Verify if there are any custom settings or permissions applied to the workspace that might affect folder visibility. 
  • Browser Console Errors: 
    Open the browser's developer tools (usually with F12), go to the Console tab, and check for any errors when the folders fail to appear. These can give clues about the underlying problem.
