Hello Community.
I am trying to publish a Power BI report (PBI) connected live to Azure Analysis Services (AAS). I connected the report live to AAS via Power BI desktop, published it to a workspace in Power BI Service, published it as Power BI Service App.
I can see and use the repport from Power BI Service, however, when I try to share the link for the report in the App, other users have an error:
Unable to connect to the data model
We cannot open the report because Power BI is unable to connect to the data model in Azure Analysis Services.
Make sure you are using the correct credentials and contact the owner of the data model or an Azure Analysis Services administrator
to ensure the data model is accessible.
Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details.
Other inputs:
PBI is licensed under one tenant, AAS under another one (both owned by the same company).
All users are registered as members in the PBI tenant, and are included in the workspace where the report is published
All users are registered as guest users in the AAS tenant (including me)
All users are provided with reading/contributing rights for a respective AAS instance.
Could anybody point out possible issues i need to fix to resolve the problem?
Thank you.
@izhelezniakov I have faced this issue earlier .
Just adding user name in AAD will not help neither provide reader access to AAS will help
You need to log into AAS add the users as a role in AAS
Hope it resolves your issue? Please consider accepting it as the solution to help the other members find it more quickly.
