Power BI Semantic model refresh not starting instantly

Hi,

I have a Power BI semantic model that absorbs data from multiple dataflows. 

 

The refreshes are managed via the refresh settings in the semantic model on Power BI Service. The org is on a Pro License. 

The refresh timings highlighted in the screenshot occured at 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM AEST. 

 

In the first screenshot, the "Data" refresh started 2 minutes after the scheduled refresh time - at 12:32 PM

 

In the second screenshot, the "Data" refresh started nearly 11 mins after the scheduled refresh time, leading to a longer perceived refresh time, and users experiencing a lag between the data they're working on, and the data in the reports. 

 

 

Why was there such a huge delay between the scheduled refresh time and the actual refresh. Is there any way to eliminate the lag, or atleast reduce it to an acceptable level?

    Hey,

     

    configured refresh time might not be the exact time when Power BI starts the next scheduled process. Power BI starts scheduled refreshes on a best-effort basis. The target is to initiate the refresh within 15 minutes of the scheduled time slot, but a delay of up to one hour can occur if the service can't allocate the required resources sooner.
