Power BI Report Description - 120 Character Limit?
My organization has been keeping metadata for Power BI reports in a separate system, but we would like to start keeping the descriptions in Power BI service itself. I have started pasting the descriptions from our metadata source into Description field under Settings, but I am noticing they are all cut off at 120 characters. When I googled it, I saw somwhere that it said the maximum for this field is 250 characters. Is there a way to increase the maximum above 120 characters?

Yes you are right that 120-character cap is a known limitation in the Power BI Service UI. Even though the underlying semantic model does store up to 250 characters, the Service only shows or lets you edit up to 120 characters directly in the browser.
If you're using deployment pipelines or external tools (like Tabular Editor), longer descriptions can still be pushed in and saved they just won’t be fully visible/editable in the Service.
Not ideal for documentation, I agree. Hopefully Microsoft extends the visible limit at some point might be worth raising or upvoting the idea on the Fabric Ideas portal if it's not exist.
