Hi All,
We have implemented Scheduled Refresh for our Power BI Dataset, but we want to achieve below mentioned functionality.
"Report Refresh to happen as soon as data gets refreshed in the database"
Please Note:
1) We are using Import mode to get data in Report, and we would like to keep it that way.
2) We also have used Power Automate visual (Displayed as Button) in Report, to refresh the dataset, but that counts more of a manual process.
Kindly suggest what can be done to achieve above mentioned functionality.
Thanks,
Radhika

Hi @Anonymous ,
The Import connection mode is to import data into the power bi memory for storage, which is equivalent to a copy and snapshot, so after the database is refreshed, it will not communicate with the database, and we need to manually or plan to refresh.
It is not automatically refreshed with database refreshes, even if scheduled refreshes can be refreshed every minute, but dashboards and reports are not refreshed every minute. The tiles on the dashboard refresh approximately every fifteen minutes.
Direct Query connection mode, everytime we refresh or reload a report that is in a Direct Query mode, Power BI will retrieve the source data from the data source. So when you refresh the dashboard or the report, you will get the latest data. Scheduled refresh of Direct Query is scheduled CACHE refresh.
You can try the following:

Hi @Anonymous ,
This depends a bit on how you are getting the data and potentially could be affected by your license model as well. If you have Direct Query then every time that the report is reloaded then Power BI retrieves the data from teh source and therefore is always the latest data.
You could get streaming or many more refreshes on a schedule if you purchase Premium licensing.
