Power BI Report Builder (desktop) connection error
Hello.
I am having problem trying to connect to Power BI Report Builder on desktop.
I am getting the error:
"Unable to connect to data source 'XXXXXXX'. Please verify the connection properties, credentials, and all needed 64-bit versions of data providers are correctly installed."
Status code: 403 (Forbidden).
-----------------------------------
The connection either timed out or was lost.
I have lots of dashboards published in Power BI service (online), I also have a Power BI Pro account, and I'm logged in Report Builder.
I tried several different data sources, but none of them work.
Hi, GustavoKamchen
Based on the error message you provided, it seems that there is an issue with the connection to the data source you are trying to access. Here are a few things you can try:
- 1. Verify that the connection properties and credentials are correct. Double-check that the server name, database name, and login credentials are accurate.
- 2. Check that the necessary 64-bit versions of data providers are installed. You may need to install or update the drivers for the data source you are trying to connect to.
- 3. Ensure that the firewall settings are not blocking the connection. Check with your network administrator to make sure that the necessary ports are open and that the firewall is not blocking the connection.
- 4. Try connecting to a different data source to see if the issue is specific to the one you are currently trying to access.
