Power BI Refresh error on Gateway

Hi All,

Report refresh fails with the below error intermediately within a minute, is it the issue with the optimization of the Dashboard.

Any leads would be appreciated.

error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_TimeoutError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_TimeoutError","parameters":{},"details":[],"exceptionCulprit":1}}} Table: ABC

Hi @Anonymous

It would appear that you need to optimize your table "ABC" and that will resolve the error.

Hi @Anonymous ,

It seems to be a time out error, here's my suggestion.

1.You can download the file then refresh it on the PowerBI Desktop to check whether data source is performing  normally. In addition, you can also use Performance Analyzer to examine report element performance.

2. If the data model is very complex or the size of dataset is very large, it will cause timeout error., so please try to optimize the data model and reduce the size of dataset.

3.You can also increase the command timeout for refresh. Reference: How to set command timeout option.

Thanks for the response @GilbertQ .

Do we need to optimize the table or Power BI report?

Yes I would suggest looking at the query on how you are getting the data as you can then get the data faster.
