Power BI Premium Metrics App - Dataset Memory consumption

Hi there, 

In the Power BI Premium Metrics App's tab "Dataset" and button "dataset", I see my dataset to have ~250MB of max memory. However when I load the same dataset on my computer, the task manager ~2GB memory. Why are these different?

Hi @Nishantjain 

When you import data to Powre BI, Power BI compresses the data and create a dataset.

So it is different of size for datasets in Power BI and data source.

Thanks for your response Maggie. I understand how the compression works with Power BI desktop. I am struggling to understand how it works in RAM. 

I am trying to understand how the size of the dataset impacts the performance of the premium node. When I look at the "Premium Node Metrics App", it shows the "Max size" of the dataset. I am not sure how to interpret that size.
