Power BI Online Bug ( Row set error)

Hi.

 

I've been facing an error in Power Bi Online refresh witch says that is: "column does not exist in the rowset" (the table is SalesForce Object).

The fact is that I do not transform/manipulate this column in Power Query, i just import my SalesForce Object to my Power BI and create my dashboards.

If I refresh my Power BI in Desktop this error does not shows up, just in online refreshs.

 

Has anyone faced something like this?

Hi, @performanceren 

 

Sometimes this error is because a column was moved, renamed or removed in the original data source.  You should try to open PBI desktop, clear your cache.  Then, just to be paranoid about it.  Close Power BI and re-open it and open that file.  Then, in that file, do the Refresh and then check to see if it is there.  If it is, re-publish and see if it is now there on the Service side.  Refresh on the Service side and see if there is an error.  If there is an error still after all of that, then go backto desktop and save a renamed version of the report and publish that and see if the renamed version works.

Hi @performanceren 

I recommend that you open Power Query and check out the Steps Applied, Check also if there is a step that is greyed out, means that the query folding can't run against the source

Hi @performanceren were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:

After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:

There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor.  Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
