Power BI Monitor - "Submitted by"

Hi

I am a little confused about what user should be showing under the "Submitted by" column in PowerBI Monitor. The documentation says it is the "owner of the Fabric item", which I assumed to mean the owner of the dataset with failing refresh itself, but that does not seem to be the case always.

In this case the example shows as my name...

But the dataset in question is owned by our shared admin account...

However, I was the last person to refresh it, as it failed at scheduled time.

Is it correct to show last person to refresh it rather than dataset owner?

Thanks

K

Hi @Kevin_Brennan

The "Submitted by" field in Power BI Monitor is intended to display the user who initiated the action being logged, rather than the owner of the dataset. This means if a refresh operation was initiated manually by a user, their name would appear in the "Submitted by" column, even if they are not the dataset owner. This approach helps in tracking who performed specific actions, which can be particularly useful for auditing and troubleshooting purposes.

Thanks, that does indeed seem to be the case.

Your colleagues with access to that semantic model can take over it.And it will use there account/credentials to authenticate and connect to the data sources.
