Power BI Licensing

I publish a Power BI report to My Workspace and share it with others. When they access the report, they see a prompt that says "Upgrade". However, my other colleague can access the report without seeing the upgrade prompt. Can you explain why this happens?

Thank you.

    Hi Anonymous ,

If you published the report in My Workspace shared capacity, users need the at least Power BI Pro license to access it.

If the user has no Pro license, we suggest you publish the report in a workspace with Power BI Premium capacity, and then give the Viewer role.

Alternatively, you can publish the report to an app and share the app link, which can sometimes bypass the need for a Pro license for viewing.

    Best regards,

    Joyce
