A quick question:
I am in an organization that has a PBI Pro license for everyone, which is very convenient. However, I know that a Premium level is needed for some functions, such as managing refreshes for computed tables in a dataflow. I'd like to use this since it would really simplify a lot of things in our dashboarding effort. Maybe datamarts could be a better fit, but I still need to learn more about them. In either case, I have an extremely limited budget, and I find PBI licensing and costs to be unclear.
I am provisioning a service account from our IT office for use in Power BI, just so the credentials for the refreshing in PBI service doesn't have to be tied to my (named) account. Does anyone know how Premium features for dataflow would work if I were to purchase it for this service account, but no other users? If the service account owned our dataflows in the PBI Workspaces, could Pro-level users then build and distribute dashboards that import processed data from it? Thanks!
No, you can't.
It's documented here:
